The Puppet Master.

How Puppet Masters Control People (Like You and Me!)

And how to stop dancing to their tune

Have you ever seen a puppet show? You know, where the puppets move and talkโ€”but someone above them is pulling the strings?

Well, guess what? In the real world, some people do something similarโ€”but instead of wooden dolls, they try to control people. Yepโ€”even smart people, like teachers, grown-ups, and even YOU.

These behind-the-scenes people are sometimes called โ€œpuppet masters.โ€ They donโ€™t have actual stringsโ€”but they use tricks to make us act, think, and feel how they want. Letโ€™s take a little walk behind the curtainโ€ฆ

1. They Use Stories to Trick Our Brains

Simple version:
They tell us stories that arenโ€™t true, but sound nice. Like a cartoon villain pretending to be your friend.

Grown-up version:
They control whatโ€™s shown in the news, on TV, or on social media. By repeating the same messages (โ€œthis is good,โ€ โ€œthat is scary,โ€ โ€œbuy this!โ€), they make people believe thingsโ€”even if theyโ€™re not true.

Why? Because the human brain loves stories. And when you hear one again and againโ€ฆ you start to believe it.

2. They Scare Us on Purpose

Simple version:
Have you ever been scared and did something silly? Thatโ€™s what puppet masters count on.

Grown-up version:
Fear makes people easy to control. So they use scary news, threats, or emergencies to get people to follow rules without asking questions.

โ€œBe afraid, so we can protect you!โ€ (But theyโ€™re the ones who made you afraid.)

3. They Distract Us with Toys and Drama

Simple version:
They keep us busy with cartoons, candy, and noise, so we donโ€™t ask, โ€œHey! Whatโ€™s really going on?โ€

Grown-up version:
While people are busy with celebrity gossip, phone games, and never-ending scrollingโ€ฆ big decisions get made behind the scenes: about money, war, food, and your rights.

Distraction is one of their most powerful tools.

4. They Divide Us into Groups

Simple version:
They say, โ€œYouโ€™re on this team. Those others are bad!โ€ So we fight each other instead of them.

Grown-up version:
They encourage argumentsโ€”between colors, classes, countries, even sports teams. If weโ€™re too busy hating each other, we wonโ€™t notice how weโ€™re being played.

5. They Bribe and Control the Leaders

Simple version:
They whisper in the ears of kings, teachers, and bosses to make them follow their plans.

Grown-up version:
By offering money, fame, or power, they influence people in high placesโ€”politicians, experts, even influencersโ€”to push their agenda. And if someone doesnโ€™t play along? They replace them.

Soโ€ฆ What Can We Do?

Hereโ€™s the good news: Weโ€™re not puppets.
We can cut the strings. But we need a few tools:

  • Ask Questions โ€“ Donโ€™t believe everything. Even me!
  • Stay Calm โ€“ Fear clouds your mind.
  • Unplug Sometimes โ€“ Take breaks from screens and think for yourself.
  • Love Others โ€“ Donโ€™t fight your neighbor. Fight the lies.
  • Learn Real Stuff โ€“ Knowledge is your shield.

Final Thought:

The puppet masters are cleverโ€”but theyโ€™re only powerful if we stay asleep.
Once we wake up, ask questions, and stick together, their strings get weaker.

So next time something feels weirdโ€ฆ stop, breathe, and ask:
โ€œWhoโ€™s pulling the strings hereโ€”and why?โ€

Youโ€™re not a puppet.
Youโ€™re a thinker.
And the world needs you.

Do you know any puppet master? Are you one?
