How to Use Video
Yes, you can use video calls in Google Classroom, but it integrates with Google Meet instead of Zoom. Hereโs how you can use it for video meetings:
For Teachers (Creating a Video Meeting)
- Open Google Classroom and go to your class.
- Click the โSettingsโ (gear icon) in the top-right.
- Scroll down to โGeneralโ and find โMeetโ.
- Click โGenerate Meet linkโ (this creates a unique video link for your class).
- Click โSaveโ, and the Meet link will appear on the Classroom Stream and Classwork pages.
- Share the link with students or start the meeting by clicking on it.
For Students (Joining a Video Meeting)
- Go to your Google Classroom.
- Find the Google Meet link on the Stream or Classwork page.
- Click the link to join the live class.
Key Features in Google Meet (similar to Zoom)
โ Screen sharing
โ Chat messages
โ Breakout rooms
โ Recording (if using Google Workspace for Education)
If you need Zoom, youโll have to schedule a meeting separately in Zoom and share the link in Google Classroom.
Let me know if you need a step-by-step guide for that!
