More Tips for Improving Your Speaking Skills
It’s important to practice speaking for at least 45 seconds continuously. Use a stopwatch or timer while practicing.
-
Practice with Others: Find native speakers or people who speak English well to practice with. Join an English club or start one yourself.
-
Describe Pictures: Collect pictures from magazines, newspapers, or the Internet. Look at each picture and describe it in 45 seconds. Describe the same picture multiple times using different adjectives and adding more details each time.
-
Talk About Your Day: Think for 15 seconds about what you did yesterday, then talk about it for 45 seconds. Use connecting words and past tense verbs. You can also do this for what you will do tomorrow, using future tense verbs.
-
Make Recommendations: Choose a topic you are interested in and explain why your idea is the best way to proceed.
There are many ways to improve your English skills. Keep practicing, and good luck on your TOEFL test!
